Due to COVID-19, artists in New York City have lost access to the spaces and creative communities in which they maintained their practice. Progressive art studios, which support artists with intellectual disabilities, have shut down, forcing artists into isolation with limited access to supplies. Summertime’s Residency Program offers a safe space for artists with and without intellectual disabilities to continue their artistic practice as well as free high quality supplies.
What the residency provides:
3 weeks of unlimited access to Summertime’s space (only you will be using the space)
$200 materials stipend
Opportunity to be featured in Summertime’s digital newsletter and social media
Weekly virtual check in with Summertime Gallery Director
Opportunity for a culminating online exhibition of work/ presentation or artist talk
